Carolina Music Ways: Davie County

Davie is a largely rural county whose southeastern corner lies in
the fork of the Yadkin River. Bluegrass is especially popular here, with two music stores featuring bluegrass music, instruments, and lessons,
as well as Mocksville's radio station WDSL 1520AM, which programs almost all bluegrass. Traditional music events, some of which include gospel—Southern, bluegrass, or African American—take place at fairgrounds, barns, picnic grounds, and civic centers.
